Suncor Energy Jobs – Electrical and Instrumentation Technician

Job Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, repair and test low, medium & high voltage equipment and components
• Conduct Electric Heat Trace (EHT) repair (i.e. SR & MI repairs)
• Participate in post-event failure analysis and root cause discussions to craft creative solutions
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide spectrum of instruments, including process analyzers and a wide range of process control equipment
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on all types of fixed plant equipment
• Maintain, test, and ensure the functionality of the associated Emergency Shutdown (ESD) equipment
• Respond to after hour trouble calls and emergency response to pipeline related issues
• Ensure preventative maintenance guidelines are adhered to and maintain complete and accurate records
• Build an atmosphere of continuous improvement, centered on safe work practices, procedures, and standards.
• Operate company provided equipment and vehicles in a safe manner

• Exceptional knowledge and application of technical requirements and quality standards
• A deep understanding of maintenance and operations and you’re able to read and interpret equipment specifications, engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables, or study sample parts as required
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and working knowledge of SAP
