Job Responsibilities:
- Implement systems and processes to facilitate zero harm and the achievement of environmental regulatory standards.
- Monitor trends in the plant and compare with best practices if negative variations are found identify and implement solutions (design, set points etc.) to deal with problem areas identified.
- From needs analysis, establish the projects scope, project plans and schedules.
- Liaise with engineering to identify engineering opportunities for improvement
- Support the preparation of cost/benefit returns for improvement projects
- Participation in budget preparation and forecasting for both financial and technical budgeting for relevant area.
- Ensure adherence to operating standards and KPI requirements.
- Ensure that employees work in a safe environment
- Support and participate in the training and development requirements of employees
- Compile accurate technical reports
- Prepare ad-hoc reports for management or other information customers
- Participate in required meetings including safety
Job Requirements:
- At least three years’ experience in Metallurgical Development Projects
- Valid driving license code 08
- Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre.
- Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or chemistry degree/diploma
- A post-graduate qualification
- Registered professional engineer (ECSA)
