- Job Responsibilities:
- Engineering compliance by co-defining and providing engineering operating philosophies and principles
- Responsible for budget planning and financial control
- Research and development , innovation and new knowledge development for the advanced engineering solutions
- Identify projects opportunities with proper definition, analysis, qualification (financial) and planning and appropriate execution of projects according to defined requirements
- Ensure Quality control systems are in place
- Ensuring engineering compliance with international codes of practice
- Development and support of high performing teams
- Providing leadership and direction for the engineering functions
- Crosspollination between operations to enhance operational efficiency
- Ensuring well structured, skilled and responsive engineering resources
- Responsible for business alignment and responsive engineering services
- Accountable for a custodian role with regards to maintaining corporate governance and standards
- Integration of business supportive engineering developments solutions
- Identify, implement and manage policies, practices, systems and technologies
- Ensure maintenance standards compliance and improvements
- Ensure legal compliance in relation to all applicable legislation
- Achieve business / operational results which includes (Meeting targets for Business Unit performance plans, Financial performance, Production and efficiency targets (5 year plan), Health and Safety targets, Environmental targets)
- Driving strategic engineering programmes and projects in line with the Group’s Policy
Job Requirements:
- Have proven ability in large Capex project management
- Be proficient in Microsoft Project Office
- Planning, cost of ownership and financial models
- Have proven ability in minimising Operational and Business Risk
- Knowledge of planned maintenance strategies
- Government Certificate of Competency – Mine & Works
- Engineering Degree Electrical / Mechanical, B-Tech / National Diploma Mechanical or Electrical
- Knowledge of Company, Commercial law, Minerals Act, BCEA and appropriate legislation
- Specialised practical/technical skills in Mining environment, projects
- Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre
- Minimum of 5 Years’ experience as an appointed 2.13.1 Engineer in Shaft environment
