Sappi Vacancies – Procurement Specialist

Job Description:

Sappi Southern Africa requires a Procurement Specialist: Trade SA to support management with analysis, purchasing and implementation of agreed commodities and to manage the accuracy, validity and completeness of accounting transactions for Trade SA and ReFibre businesses.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure accuracy, validity and completeness for all accounting transactions for actual, budget and forecast.
• Developing and maintaining internal customer service relationships.
• Calculate the profit from by-products to be transferred to the mills, and process accordingly.
• Assist with the execution of the department’s vision, strategy, objectives, policies and procedures.
• Ensure alignment and implementation of agreed goals and objectives are achieved.
• Perform stock adjustments such as scrapping, write-on/off, and various other movement types.
• Execute sourcing strategies for tactical, non-category managed, products and as per sourcing strategy, framework and procurement policy.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors.
• Participate in and provide the required information for business planning.
• Calculate and prepare Intercompany Invoices, Credit notes and profit for Trade SA and ReFibre businesses for submission to Sappi’s operations and finance for processing and balancing.
• Manage and develop sub-ordinates to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.
• Adjudication of enquiries based on value or risk profile.
• Reporting on profit improvement and cost savings plans.
• Prepare and distribute mill pricing schedules for products by collating sourcing costs per shipment.
• Coordinate and manage the multi-disciplinary teams, across departments, and assist in the change management process where necessary.
• Review and authorize forward cover requests and approve open foreign contract listing for submission to Treasury.
• Participate in multi-functional teams across all Sappi Supply Chain, Trade SA and ReFibre functions.
• Actively collaborate with vendors to strengthen relationships and build partnerships.
  Promote and help achieve Sappi’s BBBEE preferential procurement and enterprise development objectives and targets.
• Oversee system development, modifications and reporting enhancements.
• Analysis and interpretation of accounting data with variance reporting.
• Perform price movements tracking for purchased items.
• Contribute towards innovation by introducing new capabilities, processes and methodologies with the area of responsibility.
• Update purchasing info records for ReFibre business’ supply base.
• Compile monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.

Job Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma/ NQF Level 6-7
• A minimum of 5 – 8 years experience in industrial, procurement or materials management environment and Finance.
• Experience in the technical and/or manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
• SAP MM, COPA, RTP and FI experience would be advantageous.
