Job Description:

The Manufacturing IT is looking for an experienced candidate to fill the role of Systems Administrator to work onsite at Chevrons Pasadena Refinery. This role is responsible for the effective & efficient provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of refinery applications, server hardware and related infrastructure on our business network. In addition, this covers the adoption of Chevron Operational Excellence and Information Risk Management related processes and procedures that insure the reliable and secure implementation of system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures that align with Chevron technology direction and policies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Researches and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for sys admin tasks.
  • Performs periodic performance reporting to support capacity and lifecycle management plans.
  • Repairs/recovers from hardware and software failures; coordinates and communicates with impacted end users.
  • Administration, support, and maintenance of local business systems
  • Ensures systems are compliant with corporate information risk management policies, NIST Standards & Controls, and applicable SOX controls.
  • Investigates and troubleshoots complex system and application issues.

Job Requirements:

Qualification & Experience:

  • Strong working knowledge of Storage (NetApp or Veeam) and Virtualization (VMware or HyperV) technologies
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineer, Management Information Systems, or 12+ years of relevant IT experience in lieu of degree
  • Domestic travel up to 10% may be required
  • Experience with Manufacturing applications (Maximo, IntelaTrac, Track, PI)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012, & 2016
  • 10+ years of experience administrating Windows systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Windows Infrastructure Components (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File & Print, IIS)
  • 7+ years of experience working in a manufacturing plant or field operations
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing plant
  • Must obtain Transportation Workers Identification Card from Department of Homeland Security
  • Rotational after hours on-call support to plant systems required
