Job Description:

Working amongst the digital team to design, build and maintain ecommerce platforms, using technology to give our customers enriched book browsing experiences. Providing technical expertise within the Web Development team working on both greenfield projects and legacy systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Be an active part of an agile development team
• Produce beautiful, well structured and tested code for new features modernising of the legacy codebase
• Produce and regularly update technical documentation
• Identifying areas of improvement and build upon best practice
• Handle data driven requests from the ecommerce department and the wider business
• Design smart ways of storing and using complex data
• Provide ongoing monitoring of the ecommerce platform, identify issues and provide timely and lasting resolution

Job Requirements:

• Ability to communicate clearly, with the ability to explain technical details to a non technical audience.
• Knowledge of SCRUM and/or KANBAN process frameworks
• The ability to understand requirements and use them to design and build technical solutions
• Demonstrable commercial experience in PHP5/7
• Able to deliver to tight deadlines
• Enjoys learning and sharing knowledge with others
• MySQL; query optimisation and administration
• Good knowledge of web technologies (HTML/ES6/CSS)
• Zend Framework / Laravel 7+ / Symfony
• Calm and positive while working under pressure
