Job Description:

As eCommerce Copywriter, you’ll be responsible for digital copy across menswear, womenswear, kidswear and homeware categories. Working closely with buying and production, you’ll absorb key product features, USPs and ways to wear, creating compelling product descriptions that sit across our global channels. Reporting into the Head of Digital Creative and working alongside the wider Copy team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring tone of voice and handwriting are evident at every turn, whilst writing descriptive, unique copy for an array of digital communications. You’ll have a natural flair with words, exceptional vocabulary and an impressive knowledge of fashion and retail. Above all, we’re looking for someone who shares our quirky sense of humour and attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement Search Engine Optimisation best practice in all copy created.
  • Oversee the Junior eCommerce Copywriter, nurturing development against key business goals.
  • On an ad-hoc basis, support Ted’s online trading, social and PR teams.
  • Define copy for our website framework, information pages & FAQs.
  • Rewrite offline content for online usage for Ted Baker online channels.
  • Review the website copy to identify areas for improvements.
  • Work closely with design, buying and merchandising to develop an understanding of the inspiration behind upcoming collections and seasonal launches.
  • Proof-read all online content before publishing.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong writing and editorial skills – including experience of writing copy for a live web environment.
  • You are a great storyteller with a British sense of humour and you have the ability to wear many hats with your copywriting.
  • Good understanding of SEO best practices and how content can support SEO.
  • Must have a keen interest in fashion and a passion for Ted Baker’s product and brand.
  • You’ll have excellent time management skills, with the ability to self-manage and adapt to change.
  • Knowledge of how to work with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience on how to use a CMS desirable, but not essential.
  • You’ll be an expert in balancing engaging copy and rich content, with commercial goals.
