Job Description:

As we’ve recently announced, we are moving our Toronto-area Downstream offices (which are focused primarily on refining and marketing) to Calgary, to ensure we remain competitive for the long-term and to better integrate our Downstream business with the rest of Suncor. This is an exciting opportunity for new team members to fill roles made available during this process and be part of our success in the future.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Trucking Logistics group for freight rate validations, updating carrier rate changes, setting up SAP freight tables and coding requirements
• Build positive relationships with diverse groups of contract carriers on payment enquiries and investigate, evaluate and problem solve rate discrepancies, missing loads, missing remittance statements, SAP system issues, etc.
• Capture and maintain SAP Fuel Surcharge and Freight Rates tables for all contract carriers by ensuring accuracy of SAP account numbers, freight rates, GL and cost centre coding as well as transportation planning points
• Introduce efficiencies with your continuous improvement mindset while identifying possible cost-savings as well as testing system upgrades and enhancements
• Process all manual freight invoices in a timely fashion ensuring invoices are for legitimate services, coded appropriately, authorized before forwarding to Accounts Payable for payment
• Manage the physical and automated filing of remittance statements and invoices

Job Requirements:

• Two years of related experience
• Strong communication, attention to detail and analytical skills as they are essential to the role
• Intermediate level proficiency with SAP including shipping cost documents and freight rate table set up
• Two years of accounts payable or accounts receivable experience
• An adaptive work style with an ability to manage multiple priorities, challenging demands and function positively in a dynamic, collaborative work environment
• A post-secondary education
