Job Description:
As a key member of our supply, trading, and optimization team, you will work within a highly motivated and professional team responsible for overseeing the risk management control framework of our Canadian crude oil trading activities. You will provide valuable guidance to the trade floor and will experience the fast paced, exciting environment where large scale energy contracts are bought and sold on the markets each day.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate across teams to support growth of new business initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement opportunities in processes and systems
- Collaborate with accounting personnel to ensure accurate external settlements, and posting of trading activity for financial reporting
- Communicate key positions, trading strategies, and value drivers to functional leaders and peers
- Monitor and enforce key risk controls on crude trading activities, including value at risk, draw down limits, financial hedging positions, and exposure limits
- Ensure key Sarbanes Oxley controls are performed and properly documented for audit purposes
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of trading activity with external brokers
- Analyze, comprehend, and publish daily profit, loss and risk exposure reported positions related to crude trading activity
Job Requirements:

- Basic knowledge of risk management concepts and the trading cycle
- Proficient Microsoft Excel skills including complex formulae and macros
- Proven capacity to multitask, working under daily deadlines and employing a continuous improvement mindset
- Proficiency with analyzing complex sets of data, and able to independently problem solve
Qualification & Experience:
- Three years of relevant experience within commodity marketing or trading organizations, or related support functions within accounting, risk management, contracts, or compliance
- A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, economics, mathematics, or computer science
