Job Description:
The IT Availability and Monitoring Specialist is responsible to deliver agreed levels of system availability and uptime of critical systems to meet business requirements by ensuring that elements such as capacity, continuity, and security are deployed and managed effectively across the services lifecycle and the underlying infrastructure and components with the aim of ensuring the optimal delivery of IT support to the business without interruption.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform online monitoring and basic troubleshooting of critical applications on a 24×7 basis
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audit practices to ensure risk remediation action plans have been recommended, communicated and controlled
- Ensures that services and components meet and continue to meet all agreed performance targets and service levels
- Implements arrangements for disaster recovery and documents recovery procedures
- Conducts testing of recovery procedures
- Determine and document service availability requirements and targets, by considering relevant business requirements, service requirements, SLAs, and risks
- Analyzes service and component availability, reliability, maintainability and serviceability
- Monitor and record service availability results and comparing to targets
- Monitor severity of incidents, update the systems and escalate issues where necessary in line with policy
- Investigate and address instances of unplanned non-availability
- Analyze system trend data to recognize and proactively prevent IT incidents for the organization
- Monitor functioning of equipment and resolve outstanding issues to ensure uptime
- Execute daily checks and alert monitoring of critical systems and applications
- Provides feedback and reports back to management on risks, project plans and challenges
- Resolve issues with the interfaces between different systems

Qualification & Experience:
- Minimum of 4 year relevant IT industry experience, including experience in IT incident management
- Understanding of basic network infrastructure, desktop and server technologies and system monitoring tools
- Experience with service desk ticketing systems such as JIRA
