This job contributes to Starbucks success by supporting the Chief Marketing Officer and the leadership team in leading the Customer Analytics, Marketing, and Product (CMP) organization. In this highly-visible role, you will be responsible for leading and facilitating the business strategic, financial and operational planning effort in partnership with the enterprise effort, and providing general business operational support, including but not limited to, developing and managing the rhythm of the business, delivering specific projects, initiatives, and prioritization efforts, and driving business processes, procedures, compliance, and communications. Additionally, this position will influence the thinking of individuals and teams to adopt a new way of working that delivers continuous improvement, agility, business continuity, and growth mindset.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Works within the business unit and across functional leadership team members to develop and manage objectives, scope, budget and timelines for key BU projects/initiatives.
  • Planning and Execution – Developing strategic and operational plans for the workgroup, managing execution, and measuring results:
  • Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the organization promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results. Influences multiple and varied stakeholders at various levels across the organization to align with the business integration direction and plan.
  • Works closely with BU leadership to drive the annual strategic, operational and financial planning process, develop and implement business cadence, execute priorities across the organization
  • Plans and manages business unit/department processes and practices to ensure that Supports the implementation of company programs, and drives the execution of business unit strategy, structure, and operations, processes and programs to ensure the success of the integration.

Job Requirements:

  • Researches recommend and develop alternative business models for the business unit that challenge existing ways of doing business and align with overall company business strategies and financial objectives.
  • Drives critical strategic projects across the organization, representing the BU business unit.
  • Provides general business operations support for the leadership team as needed, including but not limited to financial, partner-related (HR/PRO), administrative and communications.
  • Facilitates the transfer of knowledge and skills across the organization, sharing best practices and continuous improvement principles.
  • Reviews progress against plans and capture the impact of activities.
  • Influences the thinking and leadership style of Starbucks senior leaders to help focus efforts on the highest priorities for the company and foster a culture of continuous improvement and standardization.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Strong analytical and financial skills, including financial planning and analysis and business case development
  • Ability to function effectively and independently in a highly ambiguous environment with the flexibility to change course as required to respond to new situations. Strong executive presence with solid judgment, candor, and integrity.
  • Experience in project planning, management, and delivery including all elements of scope, time, cost, risk quality, integration, procurement, and communications
  • General business experience in large, matrixed organizations.
