Job Description:

The South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) strives to improve the nation’s health and quality of life by funding and conducting relevant and leading health research. It further aims to promote equity, career development and progression.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a variety of personnel-related administrative tasks, focusing on delivering and maintaining administrative effectiveness internally and externally from the human resources department..
  • Deliver quality and responsive HR support to SAMRC stakeholders.
  • Identify obstacles to task delivery and resolve/recommend solutions to align task to expected standards of quality, quantity and time of task delivery.
  • Analyzing and proposing solutions for streamlining/ improving tasks and processes.
  • Maintaining compliance to legislation and policies.
  • Maintain efficient data/filing systems in the ED: HR office including both hard and digital copies of employees” records.
  • Assist with enhancing the performance management, staff development and incentive processes.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for internal communications.
  • Schedule HR Manager’s meetings, HR events and maintain agendas.
  • Coordinate HR projects, meetings, training initiatives, workshops and seminars.

Job Requirements:

  • Human Resources or Related Degree or Diploma.
  • At least 2 years HR administrative working experience.
  • Human Resource Management knowledge
  • Knowledge of labour legislation.
  • Basic understanding of administration and the office environment generally.
  • Written communication skills for correspondence, reports and HR content.
  • Computer literacy skills.
