Job Description:

As a Talent Delivery Manager you will play an important role in supporting the development of colleagues and the delivery of talent plans. You will be responsible for arranging and supporting the delivery of a first-class induction and other key talent and development initiatives – these will range from facilitating talent reviews to delivering workshops. You will also work closely with the Senior Talent Partner and a number of Centre’s of Excellence to support the delivery of a strategic talent plan for a business area(s).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Guide line managers to be able to access, explain and use the Learning and Development offer available to support their own personal development and that of their colleagues
  • Support the Senior Talent Partner in delivering the talent plan, managing and coordinating activities as required. This may involve end to end delivery of specific projects that feature within the talent plan.
  • Utilising the data within our HR system to analyse key trends and develop insight that will help us prioritise areas of focus for our talent plans
  • Set up the talent reviews and succession plans on the HR system and support the Senior Talent Partner to facilitate these talent reviews, ensuring the processes and tools are used effectively and key activities completed in a timely manner.
  • Start to use external market research that may support the identification of the short and medium term workforce requirements which may include volume and location of resource and skills and capabilities required to win in the future
  • In collaboration with the Senior Talent Partner assess the effectiveness of the current workforce to meet current and future business objectives, identifying resource and skills/capability gaps
  • Work with the Senior Talent Partner to recognise the need for recruitment campaigns and collaborate with the Group Resourcing function to clearly define requirements and scope campaigns in order to attract and recruit great colleagues
  • Nurture hi potential colleagues within the relevant business area and use existing talent frameworks to support their development
  • Build relationships and work collaboratively with the broader network of Talent Delivery Managers and the Centres of Excellence to ensure we’re working in the most effective way possible and delivering value for our stakeholders
  • You will be responsible for the end to end administration and delivery of the Sainsbury’s corporate induction programme, to ensure all colleagues have a great welcome and on-boarding experience
  • Provide support and engaging delivery of relevant learning interventions such as workshops for colleagues in SSCs based on learning needs identified through the strategic talent plans
  • Review the effectiveness of your learning delivery skills through course evaluation forms, making improvements as required
  • Evaluation of role profiles for roles across the SSC, ensuring they are evaluated fairly and consistently (training will be provided). In addition ensuring the roles have been benchmarked so that reward packages are equitable and in line with similar roles both internally and externally.

Job Requirements:

  • An awareness of how different individuals learn and how to apply this flexibly to the delivery of training
  • Some understanding of resourcing practices
  • An appreciation of the diversity and inclusion agenda
  • Experience of working with a HR system (desirable) and being comfortable analysing and manipulating data
  • Excellent Microsoft office skills (predominantly Excel, Powerpoint and Word)
  • Experience of working with corporate functions, ideally in a large business
  • A good understanding of Talent and L&D processes, models and methodologies and are able to bring these to life
  • A good understanding of the general HR principles, including talent management
  • Experience in delivering engaging face to face training, behavioural and technical
