Job Description:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for taking the lead in and participating in automation (and manual testing, where required) of features and applications across all the Human Capital Technology platforms supported by the HC IT team, to support the release of quality solutions. Estimates Test Effort, Creates Test Approach & Test Plan documents, and verifies quality of the requirements. This includes testability, requirement definition, test script and test data development; test environment configuration; test execution; conducting test design and test procedure walk-throughs and inspections.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manages test scoping, coordination, estimation and delivery for the relevant portfolios;
  collaborating with technical and/or functional teams for test planning and preparation efforts and the validation thereof
• Communicates reporting results to other relevant stakeholders;
• Determining test environment, tools and data requirements;
• Prepare Reusable functions, which improve the robustness, re-usability, and maintainability of their test scripts
• Consolidates reporting results from the test team
• Must be able to take on leadership responsibilities and influence the direction of the automation effort, and its schedule and prioritization.
• Take ownership of the Test Automation Framework (Maintenance and Support)
• Lead will implement automation test scripts.
• Monitors progress of testing efforts and taking corrective action where required, including escalating risks and issues as and when required to the relevant parties
• Working with the deployment leads of the various portfolios to plan the application pilot/deployment post testing efforts;
• Manages the planning, preparation and execution of testing activities

Job Requirements:

• Matric. Formal certification in testing &theory techniques (ISTQB/equivalent)
• 3 Year IT Diploma/ IT Degree or Higher
• Automation Techniques
• Automation using Selenium Cucumber advantageous
• Knowledge of cloud-based platforms is desired
• Knowledge of testing frameworks, methodologies, and tools
• 4yrs experience as senior tester +PM and/or Formal certification in testing
