Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver and collect meal trolleys from wards and departments, according to agreed schedules.
- Carry out the safe removal of clinical and other accumulated waste from sack holders / bins across the site.
- Sack holders/bins must be kept clean inside and out and the bin liners replaced.
- According to local site arrangements and subject to appropriate training and risk assessment to assist / take down and / or re-hang curtains and bed screens. These will include items located anywhere across the Trust’s retained estate as may be required.
- Undertake the movement of patients, as appropriate, within Trust premises.
- Follow strictly timed work schedules to ensure smooth operations of other departments, relaying any information given that may impact on other services.
- Provide a professional and comprehensive porter duties in a Trust supplied vehicle, where directed by the line report or delegate.
- Following training, transport bodies to the mortuary and undertake a range of duties to include cleaning of the mortuary, preparing the viewing area and issuing bodies to undertakers (where applicable).
