Job Description:

The Unit Manager assumes responsibility for the co-ordination, provision and establishment of quality, efficient care, medical surveillance to client employees, that leads to the promotion, protection and restoration of the employee’s health within a safe working environment, under administrative direction of the Clinical Coordinator, Regional Operations Manager and the Occupational Health Medical Practitioner

Job Responsibilities:

• Contain costs without compromising quality.
• Record keeping and reporting.
• Maintain time and attendance records for staff and OMP’s.
• Manage and plan the bookings of the medicals on daily basis.
• Comply with the Quality Management System.
• Compile site specific HRA`s.
• Conduct hygiene inspections.
• Assist Risk and OMP in updating OREP`s.
• Compile corrective action plans on hygiene and HIRA reports.
• Ensure compliance to the OSH act No: 85 of 1993 and regulations.
• Develop and maintain accurate up to date medical records, to track employee health/illness and provide the company with the data.
• Coordinate wellness activities according to the DOH Health and Wellness calendar.
• Support management in achieving their KPA`s related to the management of health of their employees and in compliance with the MHS act and OSH act.
• Prevent loss of stock and equipment by proper control, inventory keeping and execution of a maintenance plan.

Job Requirements:

• Thorough knowledge of general / primary care nursing theory and practice
• Extensive knowledge of modern nursing care principles and practices in the highly specialised field of the intensive care nursing

Qualification & Experience:

• Diploma / Degree in Nursing
• Occupational health qualification
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council
• Registered Audiometrist
• Certificate in Spirometry and Vision Screening
• Dispensing qualification.
• Basic life support will be preferred
• Intermediate computer skills
• At least 3- 5 years’ experience in Occupational Health
• 2 years management experience
• Intermediate computer skills
