Job Description:

A vacancy has arisen for a Centre Manager for the Life Esidimeni, Witpoort Recovery Centre. The successful candidate will report to the Regional Manager.  The incumbent will be responsible for meeting the needs of the internal and external customers through the execution of the Life Esidimeni strategic and operational objectives in growth, quality & people by leading, managing and co-coordinating all Clinic activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive improvement of quality metrics and implementation of LHC standardised complaints management system
  • Provide regular reports to the Department of Social Development and Life Esidimeni management as and when required.
  • Initiate and maintain strong relationships with relevant external stakeholders to provide broad based integration services for users.
  • Ensure and drive optimal management of business governance to achieve sound business ethics, risk management and control with appropriate transparency and controls.
  • Drive the optimal functioning of hospital operations, identify and monitor gaps and risks and implement corrective action accordingly.
  • Ensure that supervision services are provided for all social workers and allied team members engaged in the treatment and rehabilitation programme.
  • Recruit, retain, motivate and develop staff according to LHC people policies and practices.
  • Provide direction and inspire positive work behaviour in hospital.
  • Promote strict adherence to Service Level Agreements
  • Actively sponsor LHC initiatives and projects as it relates to hospital.
  • Areas of focus include Budget, Capex / special projects, activity, revenue, cost of sales, overheads, EBITDA and working capital.
  • Maintain quality patient care standards.
  • Demonstrate visible leadership in respect of LHC values, operating model and strategy.
  • Hold regular climate meetings with representatives of the service users, their families and halfway house resident’s committee, ensure that
  • quality services are provided and excellent clinical outcomes are achieved.
  • Ensure that the facility rules are complied with to ensure the safety of all service users and staff.
  • Actively lead and manage hospital MANCO and ensure participation from all parties to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Develop a marketing strategy for the Clinic aligned to LHC business plan and marketing strategy and drive the marketing of the Life Esidimeni brand by understanding, identifying and addressing the needs of the target market and local community including understanding competitor strategies.
  • Drive implementation of National Core Standards plus Prison Healthcare Services standards and ensure compliance to clinical benchmarking.
  • In all of the above identify trends, using root cause analysis, and implement remedial action where necessary through effective use of heads of department and enabling functions as required.
  • Ensure that programme procedures are followed, and audit the completion of patient referrals, assessments, individual programmes and discharge documentation regularly
  • Actively lead and market quality in LHC as it relates to staff, doctors and other stakeholders.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Basic understanding of or the ability to learn specialisation fields, terminology and medical equipment.
  • Relevant degree essential.
  • Proficient in English both written and verbal.
  • Business management qualification advantageous.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Knowledge of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role-players including understanding of relevant legislation.
  • 5 to 10 years proven leadership and general business management experience in a Centre Manager position. Including financial management and business planning processes within a healthcare environment.
