Job Description:

The Communications & Operations Executive position is a key role in ensuring the success of communication efforts across JPL. Our candidate will be able to lead, manage, and thrive in a variety of situations and requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Partnering to set the overall strategy for the Directorate as it relates to personnel, investments, organizational structure, strategic technical priorities, and internal communications
• Supporting the Lab’s needs and thriving in a fast-paced news and social media environment
• Managing day to day operations of the Directorate through guidance, leadership, and a focus on the details
• Building relationships with key NASA and JPL stakeholders as well as the science and engineering communities
• Leading the Directorate in partnership with the Director
• Working closely with the Directorate’s news team to ensure high-quality operations and products, including supporting all mission milestones and other significant news events for JPL

Job Requirements:

• History of successful leadership of large news teams and creative producers
• Proven track record in developing innovative collaborations and improving teamwork across a diverse set of communications teams, leading to more efficient, innovative, and inclusive outcomes
• Successful working relationships with key communications companies and leaders
• Excellent communication, writing, producing, presentation, and editing skills
• Experience in developing and managing a highly-skilled workforce
