Job Description:
An opportunity has just become available in our Leisurewear Department for a resilient, innovative and resourceful Buyer who can add value to our Menswear team through the successful trending, sourcing and procurement of Menswear merchandise for Tread & Miller.
Job Responsibilities:
- Range preparation, coordination and presentation
- Range execution in alignment with the business objectives
- Effectively collaborating with the relevant stakeholders and departments
- General buying administrative functions
- Negotiate and manage supplier contracts
- Presenting range reviews
- Controlling sample stock
- Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers
- Overseeing the Product Quality and Fit
Job Requirements:
- A clear understanding of menswear styling, components and construction
- A working knowledge of the latest Microsoft packages is required
- Working knowledge of the retail cycle and merchandise buying principles and processes
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience working in a clothing retail environment is an important requirement
- Grade 12 certificate and a relevant tertiary qualification is required
- Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications Required
- Preference will be given to candidates who have a relevant tertiary qualification or experience in Design.
- 3 – 5 years of retail merchandise buying experience is essential
