Job Description:
To provide a cost-effective procurement function focusing on commercial and legal terms and conditions of procurement contracts, the creation of value, management of commercial risk inherent to the procurement process, and implementing and maintaining international best practices, policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to Social Labour Plan targets in terms of local, HDSA and ED/SD initiatives and spend.
- Maintain all Procurement Registers.
- Co-ordinate, compile documentation and attend Tender Board Meetings.
- Compile meaningful, commercially apt and legally correct enquiries to selected Tenderers, manage the entire tender process, provide meaningful commercial and legal tender analyses as well as negotiate with supplies/contractors/consultants. Present findings during approval process.
- Pro-actively manage POP requirements and keep current at all times.
- Procure contract documents (standard or specialised) based on the enquiry, incorporating decisions made at negotiations and pre-award meetings with the successful Tenderer in the best interest of the Company, with minimal risk exposure to the Company.
- Ensure compliance with relevant DBCM and VUP policies and procedures, maintaining an excellent governance track record.
- Co-ordinate and collate information for the drawing up of required Supply Chain and Cost reports.
- Initiate supplier and product research.
- Identify areas of contractual agreement to maximise opportunity for the Company at minimal risk.
- Co-ordinate the Purchase Requisition process, creating and maintaining requisitions on SAP.
Job Requirements:
- Advanced understanding and implementation of commercial law principles.
Qualification & Experience:
- Capital Project experience of 5 years on projects with values of greater than R100 million will be advantageous.
- Must have 5 years’ experience in and in-depth knowledge of the Supply Chain environment.
- 5 years applied procurement experience within the procurement/contracts environment with emphasis on contractual risk and adding value.
- Experience
Commercial, Legal or Supply Chain degree/national diploma. - Must have 5 years’ experience in working with NEC and have an in depth understanding thereof.
