Job Description:

The Mechanical Engineer will provide mechanical engineering services to the Central Maintenance department to safely meet Arconic’s business plan for engineering, production, maintenance, and quality standards. In this role, you will serve as a critical team member to optimize the safety, efficiency, output, and quality of our manufacturing processes. This position is responsible for mechanical system integration for assigned area projects to create, sustain, or improve manufacturing equipment and processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Focus on tactical projects in the areas of safety, recovery improvement, machine reliability, training, and production
  • Lead and support the execution of problem-solving efforts related to process and machine improvements
  • Utilize project management tools for the successful implementation of both sustaining and new capital improvement projects
  • Coordinate all phases of assigned area mechanical engineering projects from concept, scope development, written specifications, bid solicitations, design, manufacturing, equipment commissioning, and project closure
  • Although the person in this position works primarily daytime shifts M-F, it is expected that they work off-shifts and/or weekends as needed to support the functions of this role.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills with the ability to work & interact at all levels of an organization
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines
  • U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 1 year of Engineering experience in a manufacturing industry (co-op and internships may be included)
  • 1 year or more experience with aluminum rolling mill or related technology
  • Experience interpreting design and control of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or utility systems for machine understanding and performing improvement modifications
  • 3 years of Engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
