Job Description: The Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government has an employment opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render an effective management and financial accounting service Job Responsibilities: Effective budget administration Revenue and expenditure control Payment voucher control Creditors LOGIS payments Journal Transactions Asset and liability accounts Cash and banking Revenue and Receivables Form control and knowledge Costing. Job Requirements: Knowledge of the following: Financial norms and standards (Public Finance Management Act, National Treasury Regulations and Provincial Treasury Instructions) Financial Systems (LOGIS and BAS) Drafting of Financial Statements Proven computer literacy Problem Solving Decision Making Technical proficiency Written and verbal communication skills. Qualification & Experience: An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/ B-degree or higher) in Accounting or Financial Management A minimum of 1-year experience in a Financial Accounting environment A valid (Code B or higher) driving license.
