Job Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate- and postgraduate courses with the emphasis on biomechanics;
- Be involved in clinical training of undergraduate and postgraduate students;
- Comply and assist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa’s (HPCSA) directives and minimum standards
- Mentor and supervise postgraduate students;
- Participate in community engagement and service delivery;
- Conduct departmental- and academic-related activities and responsibilities;
- Play an active role as academic nationally and internationally;
- Conduct collaborative research in their research specialisation area;
Job Requirements:
- Record of national and/or international teamwork.
- Some first author publications in peer-reviewed journals are recommended;
- Illustrate potential to become an established researcher;
- To study further and to conduct research;
- Illustrate potential to become a competent lecturer at the undergraduate level;
Qualification & Experience:
- At least two years’ experience working as a biomechanist, biokineticist or sport scientist;
- Experience in interdisciplinary, collaborative research;
- One-year teaching/tutoring and research experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels;
- At least five years’ practice experience as a biomechanist, biokineticist or sport scientist;
- Experience as supervisor of postgraduate students, preferably Masters level or higher;
