Job Description:

An exciting position has arisen within the TFG Design Centre for a Designer for the Bodywear Team. We are looking for a responsible, organised individual, who enjoys working in a fast paced and dynamic environment where the customer is the central focus of everything we do. The Bodywear designer’s role will be to take charge of guiding all steps of the design process, from initial conception to final production for a variety of retailers. A strong grasp of garment construction together with creative flair is essential for this role.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive and technical CAD drawings and tech packs, to ensure relevant and cost effective product
• Provide an effective test options in order to establish new product categories, and relevant iterations on existing product lines
• Design monthly QR capsules specific to bodywear and its internal brands
• Provide the buying teams with regular relevant and aspirational trend information that is brand right
• Incorporate brand handwriting / personality into the ranges
• Briefing Graphic designer and outwork team on trend and branding direction
• Managing the design process -from briefing patternmaker thoroughly and working closely with the sample room to ensure that samples are effectively executed
• Essential to have a commercial eye and be able to interpret international trends for the customer
• Create look and feel for seasonal merchandise, based on global trend and key lessons learnt (includes direction on silhouette, styling and fabric, print and colour)

Job Requirements:

• Interpersonal skills, assertive and able to communicate at all levels, as well as present to large groups

• Ability to liaise confidently with all stakeholders through presentation skills and translating their requirements into exciting and commercial designs
• Excellent planning, organising and multi-tasking ability required
• Practical knowledge of garment construction, fabrics and trims
• Excellent skills in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop, and Microsoft Office

Qualification & Experience:

• Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design
• 3-5 years work experience in the intimates industry
