Job Description:

The primary goal of the position is to gather, integrate, and present all internal and external data, insights, and analyses pertinent to the strategy creation process. This combined data (for example, economic, market, customer, competitor, product, pricing, and location) will aid both the trading division planning process and the Group corporate strategy process, particularly in terms of identifying and responding to opportunities and competitors.

Job Responsibilities:

• Additionally, the analyst will prepare standardised reporting outputs that will serve as inputs to the trading division strategy development process, as well as the corporate strategy workshops and processes
• The role will also work to generate insights by overlaying and enriching the data with business knowledge and inputs from the consolidated bottom-up strategy planning documentation
• This role will function to establish a comprehensive and consolidated insights capability – sourcing and managing data from a multitude of sources, both internally and externally. Some of these data sources may be an economic, market, customer, competitor, product, pricing, and location in nature
• As part of this, the role will also act as a repository for competitor information, sourcing, and conducting research into key dimensions of the competitor set
• The role will be expected to be able to quantify opportunity spaces and profit pools by integrating related data sets
• The role may be required to model various pricing architectures, elasticities, market share changes, economic outlooks, or other ad hoc analyses
• The role may have to work with external research agencies to conduct proprietary research to support new business opportunities or spaces

Job Requirements:

• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Qualification & Experience:

• A Relevant 3-year Qualification (i.e. Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or Data Science)
• 3-5 years post qualification in similar data/ insights/ research analyst role
• Experience within the Retail Industry will be an advantage
