Job Description:

To provide detailed financial analysis and administrative support to the Finance Process Manager, in the areas of invoice logging, purchase orders and the processing of external legal fees. Providing analysis of spend, and investigating invoice and SAP discrepancies. The post holder will also maintain and improve relationships with the finance teams within the Legal Panel of law firms providing services to TfL Legal.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that accountabilities for financial analysis and supplier management are fully and promptly met
  • To liaise with other parts of TfL Legal – ensuring that relevant sign-off of invoices is achieved; escalating financial irregularities and other supplier management issues, of which the post holder is aware.
  • To provide all necessary support to the Finance Process Manager
  • To enter data accurately, and proof own work

Job Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a large complex Finance Office, delivering to tight deadlines.
  • Experience of using Excel spreadsheets.
  • Good team working skills – working co-operatively and collaboratively to achieve the team’s objectives.
  • Good numerical skills – they will be required to check invoice calculations and to provide analysis of invoices received and paid.
  • Knowledge and understanding of how large finance departments operate effectively within large organisations.
  • Good knowledge of (i) the “procure to pay” and invoicing process, and (ii) financial controls.
  • Effective communication skills and telephone manner (polite, attentive and listening).
  • Excellent skills in SAP, MS Office (Excel) and Outlook, including presentational skills and the ability to proof his/her own work.
