Job Description:

The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Procurement Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

• Excellent knowledge and understanding of construction materials
• Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact
• Build Strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Analyse alternatives, and develop viable recommendations
• Provide Tender support, preparation, and analysis according to Tender specifications and requirements
• Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem-solving abilities
• Develop and maintain supplier / sub-contractor database
• Meet with Potential Vendor representatives to improve product knowledge and negotiate buying options
• Liaise closely with the estimator at the tendering stage.
• Obtain best prices from supplier/ sub-contractor that comply with the Tender conditions, requirements, and specifications.

Job Requirements:

• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Attention to detail, Proactive service orientated attitude, Excellent negotiation skills, ability to work under pressure and must be a team player
• Able to read and analyse Tender Drawings
• Must have a valid South African Driver’s License & have own vehicle

Qualification & Experience:

• National Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
• Minimum 5 Years working experience in Tender Buying (Civils and Roads and Earthworks)
• International Procurement experience (Africa) will be beneficial
