Midwestern Republican Senator seeks a Press Secretary based in Washington, DC. - Primary duties include assisting the Communications Director in all media activities for the Senator and the office and preparing and distributing press releases and conducting the appropriate follow-up.
- Typical responsibilities are writing, editing, and distributing recurring press releases and fact sheets to radio stations, weekly newspapers and other media, ensuring press releases are received through follow-up telephone calls, accompanying the Senator on media events to set up technical production, editing speeches and other press-related documents, arranging for photographs of groups/individuals with the Senator and implementing goals and press strategy developed by others.
