Job Description:

Sappi Southern Africa requires a Regional Reliability Maintenance Manager to research, develop, implement and co-ordinate the maintenance management strategy and transfer relevant standards, knowledge and implementation skills to all levels of the mill management and provide a specialist support function to the technical team as well as develop programs and tasks to improve the operating unit’s plant availability and throughput.

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor and support all SAP maintenance business processes to identify improvements
• Work closely with the Regional Maintenance Systems and Support Manager to advise on improvements and application of all SAP business processes
• Train and follow-up maintenance program development teams for change management in the mills
• Improve/Change and maintain Regional Maintenance standards
• Review maintenance scorecard results and communicate all potentially high leverage areas with the support of the regional maintenance efficiency report.
• Develop and implement the Root Cause Analysis system (SPPS).
• Influence engineering managers to accept the Regional Maintenance program development methodology and report on progress and improvement solutions.
• Develop and implement all relevant maintenance management Sappi fundamentals and key performance areas
• Collaborate and share information between operating units on all relevant maintenance activities to eliminate the reoccurrence of similar problems and repetition of work
• Research, develop and take necessary decisions to effectively improve all aspects of the maintenance management program development methodology and take corrective action where deviations exist.
• Actively lead projects at mills to improve OEE
• Benchmark the Regional mills on maintenance effectiveness and implement the necessary interventions to improve.
• Maintain the regional maintenance strategy document with new developments

Job Requirements:

• A four (4 ) year degree B.Sc. (Eng.) or BTech (specialist SHEQ discipline)
• Minimum of eight (8) Years’ experience which includes 3 years Section Engineer, 2 Years Maintenance Planning, 3 Maintenance/Engineering/Management, 3 years related or industrial experience
• Experience as an engineering manager and experience in maintenance systems and maintenance operations, and a high level of credibility in this field is essential
