Job Description: To administer and optimise SanFin’s Wintel, Solaris and RedHat server farm. This includes ensuring optimal performance, availability and integrity of the servers and services, configuring all new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment. Job Responsibilities: Assist with server-side support of applications and databases Responsible for patch, malware, and security configuration compliance Ability to accurately implement projects and tasks with minimal supervision Assist with general infrastructure support of the SanFin IT environment Ensures relevant documentation and assistance is provided to enable desktop support technicians to adequately support end users Maintains and validates back-ups and disaster recovery systems Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues on servers, applications, and server components Performs function with due-diligence and in accordance with change management, testing and best practices. Active Directory support (user maintenance, folder permissions, group policy objects, etc.) Responsible for weekly reporting of daily activities and participates in meetings and discussions Responsible for compliance to all applicable policies, standards, and procedures Assist with general infrastructure support of the SanFin IT environment Responsible for the integrity and recoverability of servers and server backups Maintains up-to-date and detailed documentation Responsible for resolving all calls quickly and effectively (incidents and problems) Build reputable relationship with Sanlam Group Technology Provides support for the maintenance of the Citrix Hypervisor (Virtual Server Infrastructure), servers and other infrastructure requirements such as desktops, print server, FTP and SMS services Job Requirements: Ability to diagnose and solve complex technology problems Manage client interaction and expectations Communicate effectively with internal customers, clients and vendors (translates technical knowledge to understandable language to the user) Advanced understanding of server concepts Develop and foster client and vendor relationships High level understanding of virtualisation concepts Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and productivity Understand the demands of a financial services environment High level understanding of networking concepts Ability to work within a motivated team of technical specialists and work as a member of a team Qualification & Experience: MCSE certification Solaris Administration certification will be an added advantage IT Diploma or similar qualification RHCSA certification Job Details: Company: Sanlam Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Sandton, Gauteng, South Africa Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here vacanciesforyou.xyz
