As a Commercial Strategy Manager, you’ll be responsible for owning, shaping and driving strategic change projects driving enhancements to our customer proposition from idea through to implementation working collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to lead and accelerate change.

We’re looking for someone who’s strategically-minded, so you’ll likely already work in a large-scale commercial strategy team or be a consultant looking to move into a role within an established, stable industry. You’ll lead large end-to-end change projects, so you’ll need to be a project manager and thought-leader who can also inspire and encourage your team to be the best they can be, dealing with ambiguity and influencing senior stakeholders to achieve the best results.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Quickly build great relationships and high-performing working teams to land change at pace
  • Lead and attend critical governance meetings and milestones for your projects, including presenting and responding to feedback from Board and Director-level leaders
  • Liaise regularly with subject matter experts to maximise knowledge and capability
  • Proactively share examples of best practice with wider teams and division
  • Provide the Commercial Leadership Team with market trends and competitor insight updates
  • Drive clarity by framing the right commercial questions, often from a position of ambiguity
  • Identify opportunities through insight and trends, challenging the status quo where relevant
  • Build actionable strategic frameworks to prioritise and implement change across our propositions and channels, allowing us to win in the markets we play in
  • Lead or support complex programmes of work, across our brands and channels; including scoping, building cross-business support and investment, trialling and embedding
  • Demonstrate an ability to run projects with an agile mind-set
  • Take ownership for your projects, providing structure, clarity and regular proactive updates to the relevant stakeholders and leadership teams, including potential risks and proposed mitigation actions to avoid roadblocks
  • Be creative in bringing the right insights and people together to help solve our toughest commercial problems and make tangible recommendations to the business

Job Requirements:

  • Curiosity & a drive to identify & solve issues
  • Passion for retail markets, familiar with customer, market, competition and financial insights
  • Strategic thinking, utilising a hypothesis led approach to break down complex problems
  • Able to analyse data and generate clear and structured insight to identify strategic issues
  • Balanced approach to decision making in the face of multiple, and sometimes conflicting, demands
  • Strong project management experience and organisation skills, with experience of working collaboratively
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills
