Job Description: The Category Manager is responsible for the overall merchandising direction of a category department(s) with the goal of meeting/exceeding sales and margin targets. The Category Manager will focus on the product category and customer by incorporating competitive intelligence, customer insight, and business analysis. This position is responsible for the purchase and negotiation of merchandise and will partner with the planning, inventory, finance and marketing teams to develop strategies to maximize business opportunities. Job Responsibilities: Analyze feedback and other sources to define and improve category strategies, product assortments, marketing and pricing Develop, mentor and lead a team to grow the team and business Manage merchandise programs, vendor relationships, store merchandising, inventory management, markdowns, and marketing in accordance with the category strategic plan Work with senior leadership to develop a strategic vision for product categories and actionable plans that support the overall objectives Create new business concepts and products to grow and improve our in-store/online experience Develop vendor relationships that grow the business via market meetings, trade shows, thoughtful planning and communication Analyze and forecast category sales data to identify business growth opportunities and liabilities Perform competitive shopping to increase the connection to our customers and know the market place Job Requirements: Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Ability to adapt to change quickly Strong comprehensive understanding of PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook required Adapts to and works effectively with a variety of situations, individuals or groups Display a positive attitude, professional manner and a willingness to be a team player and assist co-workers at all levels Strong product sensibility Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail Qualification & Experience: 4 years of merchandise experience required; preferably with a large organization in a similar role Demonstrated effectiveness with decision making, influencing and negotiation skills Business acumen with extensive experience analyzing data and forecasting methods Bachelor's Degree Thorough knowledge of buying and operations gained through progressive experience Strong leadership and management experience skills with a track record for building effective teams and developing direct reports Job Details: Company: Party City Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Functions: Other Job Location: Rockaway, NJ Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here vacanciesforyou.xyz
