Job Description:

The role forms part of the OML Applied Intelligence team, which is the central RPA, AI and Behavioural Economics capability for the group. The Behavioural Economist role will be responsible and take ownership of multiple projects/stakeholders at a particular point in time. They will help mentor Trainees and Associates where needed, and drive engagement with senior stakeholders. In addition, they will be required to facilitate business development.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Effectively coordinating with business stakeholders and external vendors to build change interventions
  • Creating new work through business development and building partnerships
  • Scaling results within the organisation resulting in sustained impact
  • Evidencing value through established industry norms (A/B testing)
  • Preemptively managing, together with business stakeholders, all risks relating to change interventions
  • Maintaining a high level of quality and ethical standards
  • Advancing knowledge of the behavioural sciences within Old Mutual through the production of knowledge content
  • Functioning as an internal, expert advisor on the behavioural sciences
  • Journey behaviour analysis and decision-mapping
  • Aligning with the needs of business in the delivery of Old Mutual’s strategic agenda
  • Providing insight and guidance for other team members through sharing research and encouraging engagement
  • Evangelising the behavioural sciences within Old Mutual, creating a foundational understanding of what the science has to offer
  • Architecting or designing nudges which result in both short-term as well as sustained behaviour influence and change
  • Partnering with business stakeholders in the delivery of behaviour change interventions
  • Conducting research in behavioural economics/science
  • Managing multiple stakeholder relationships

Job Requirements:

  • Masters Degree (preferred)
  • Data analysis and modeling skills Exceptional writing skills
  • Honours Degree or 4 year equivalent Bachelor degree
  • Understanding of trends in behavioural science
  • Strong research skills (ability to share relevant resources with rest of team)
  • Good knowledge of important behavioural economics/science experiments and their key findings
