Job Description:

This role will partner closely with the Merch Inventory Planning and Allocation teams, provi ding financial support and guidance . Key responsibilities include management of the financial plan for Nordstrom merch margin, leading the support for ad hoc requests from the business , and providing key insight s and trends to Finance and Merch leadership. The ideal candidate is proactive, balances strong attention to detail with business storytelling skills , is committed to continually simplifying existing processes and can collaborate cross-functionally to solve complex business problems .

Job Responsibilities:

• Help drive the creation of new processes and KPIS that align with the transition from Retail to Cost accounting
• Lead complex ad hoc financial analysis and modeling for determining the margin impact of various initiatives
• Partner with planning directors to influence margin plans and understand key drivers of margin results
• Manage the Nordstrom financial merch margin forecast , budget and long-term plan
• Refine current methodologies for allocating margin by customer journey/fulfillment type and assessing contribution margin by merch d ivision
• Support and develop weekly , monthly and quarterly margin and inventory performance reporting and storytelling
• Collaborate and build credibility across the merch and finance organizations

Job Requirements:

• Ability to independently develop and/or simplify processes and deliverables from general direction
• 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis , modeling, budgeting and long-term business planning
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Advanced financial modeling and excel experience
• SQL or Tableau/Power BI Experience a plus
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or similar field
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
