Job Description:

Mr Price Home has an opportunity for a Location Planner to join the division. The purpose of this role is to effectively work with the merchandise team to achieve the company’s strategic objectives and seasonal financial strategies in order to drive sales and profitability by providing the customer with a delightful in store experience through assortment and store balancing, ensuring the right product is at the right price, right place and at the right time.

Job Responsibilities:

• Understanding the principles of location planning
• Developing effective communication channels within operations teams
• Understanding of the international price matrix in line with pricing strategy
• Continuously managing and guiding the correct distribution of stock brought into the business across locations to achieve maximum return on investment
• Monitor and provide input into volumes behind promoted and marketed item based on analysis and understanding of customer behaviour based on regional nuances
• Manage strategic allocations to ensure optimal balance of stock in stores
• Develop effective strategies to optimise opportunities for store specific occurrences e.g.: coastal store needs, university towns
• Maintain store grading process which accounts for customer centric nuances.

Job Requirements:

• Initiative, results driven and have the ability to work under pressure
• Effective communication skills at all levels of the business
• A relevant tertiary qualification preferably in Commerce/ Maths/ Stats degree
• Logical, methodical approach
• MS Office – advanced MS Excel
• Analytical, conceptual, problem solving and solution-driven
• Display a passion for the merchandise processes
• 3 – 5 years of location planning/ planning experience
• All applicants must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 at the time of application or if necessary undertake, to receive a second vaccination in accordance with Company policy, before permanent employment is confirmed.
• Strong interpersonal and consultative skills
