Job Description:

St Dominic’s College is a co-educational, independent Catholic school situated in Welkom, Free State, approximately 200km south of Johannesburg. St Dominic’s College is a traditional church school and has come to be recognised as one of the Free State’s leading independent schools. St Dominic’s College is a whole school comprising of approximately 700 pupils from Grade 000 to Matric.

Job Responsibilities:

• Excellent interpersonal, managerial and communication skills with the ability to interact positively with multiple stakeholder groups.
• Leadership of the Primary School Community.
• Working towards the achievement of a very clear vision and mission already in place
• Ensuring that the Catholic Christian ethos of the school is maintained and enhanced through effective and authentic spiritual leadership.
• Oversight of all operational aspects of the Primary School
• Encourage and support staff development.
• A sound knowledge of current educational trends.

Job Requirements:

• A minimum of 10 years teaching experience, of which 3 years must be managerial level in the same / similar type of position.
• Appropriate post –graduate academic and professional qualifications together with SACE registration. A senior post graduate degree will be an advantage
• Excellent self- management and planning skills and the ability to display a high level of conceptual reasoning.
• A lived personal Christian faith, and an ability to relate strongly to the Catholic ethos at the heart of the College
• A traceable history of passionate contribution to schooling and education.
• The ability to operate under pressure.
