Job Description:

This position is responsible for the development and management of commercial matters for the Architecture, Design & Construction function. This includes programme / project management of capital projects for all assigned owned, JV and leased hotels and supporting with the production of and maintenance of cost models. You will be the principal point of support for all project stakeholders, both within Hilton as well as for the owner / franchise partner teams, during the design, construction, pre and post-completion stages of the Capex, Retentions & Renewals pipeline.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance and diligence for the selection and appointment of outside consultants, contractors, and suppliers. Including the review of contracts, terms and conditions and scope of services for consultants.
  • Develop & execute a strategy to coordinate the tracking and benchmarking of project information, contracts, budgets, forecasts, and other project-related performance measures.
  • Conduct competitor and industry analysis using relevant management tools and techniques and produce reports and recommendations to measure and enhance Hilton’s property asset management processes.
  • Commercial negotiations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop & maintain credible cost models for all brands in all key strategic markets.
  • Develop policies & procedures regarding the capital process, maintaining and ensuring the overall strategic direction is consistent with and supported by Human Resources, Legal, Finance, Brand, Design, Asset Management and Operational policies.
  • Evolve, with IT, a robust Global Capital Project Management System.
  • Monitor and report on a quarterly basis fluctuations / influencing factors in the market.
  • Inspect hotels and develop Property Improvement Plans (PIPS) in line with Hilton Brand standards.
  • Ability to assess condition of assets in accordance with Hilton Brand standards and develop Property Improvement Plans for renewing and change of ownership contracts.

Job Requirements:

  • Will ideally have working knowledge of the hospitality industry including the legal and regulatory environment, property management, sales, and marketing, understanding industry contacts and experience with complicated financial interrelationships unique to the industry.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Substantial work experience in property, engineering design and/or construction related roles including management experience and/or experience working within a Client organisation.
  • Relevant development and construction related experience ideally from within an international hotel group, a consulting firm dealing with hospitality clients or other relevant construction related industries including retail, hospitals and education.
  • Proven project management experience and the capability of both leading and monitoring of outside consultants.
  • University degree in engineering, architecture, building or quantity surveying or construction-related discipline.
