HEB Warehouse Jobs – Meat Cutter

Job Description:

Cuts and trims meats to size for display.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assists customers with product questions.
• Operates in compliance with federal and state fresh meat regulations.
• Performs other cross-functional Market duties as needed.
• Participate with a total store mindset.
• Cross-functional duties in other areas may be assigned. Joe Vs Smart Shop Partners are trained to do at least two jobs within the store.
• Cuts, trims, and bones & meat according to company standards.
• Operates electric grinder/saw/knife sharpener/tenderizer/slicer.
• Wraps meat; prices and labels for sale.
• Provides excellent customer service by answering product-related questions, helping customers
• Rotates product in meat cooler and ensures proper storage practices.
• Generate production list and track ‘re-works’.
• Keeps total department clean and sanitary.

Job Requirements:

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• This is a fast-paced work environment that includes handling multiple tasks.
• The work environment will include shifting priorities and assignments in various areas of the store throughout a shift
• The environment also includes working with Customers and being attentive to their needs
• Excellent Customer Service skills
• Ability to prioritize and handle cross functional tasks
• Basic communication skills
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Lift moderate to heavy loads, bend, push and pull, kneel, squat and stand and walk for long periods of time
• Must successfully complete required job skills and compliance-related training.
• This is a fast-paced work environment that includes handling multiple tasks.
