Job Description:
Plan and implement academic programs. Employ a variety of teaching strategies to reach the required learning outcomes. Implement teaching policies. Develop clinical tools and implement clinical teaching strategies. Implement Performance Management and Development System for internal basic learners.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in Work Integrated Learning of learners, implement clinical assessment strategies to determine learner competence in the clinical areas, and maintain records as required, learner accompaniment in all clinical areas accredited for the College. Must be prepared to travel to all areas utilized for experiential learning. Management of leaner database. Participate in nursing research and community engagement. Participate in Curriculum development. Have and implement a sound knowledge of all applicable and current legislation pertaining to nursing education and training. Utilization of technology for teaching, evaluating, monitoring and management of the program. Participate in continuous professional development in Nursing Education and own field of practice.
Job Requirements:
- A valid Code 8 /C1 driver’s license. Computer skills (Word, Power Point and Excel), sound communication skills (verbal and written) organizational, problem-solving skills, report-writing, good facilitation, and presentation skills. Research knowledge. The ability to work in a team and under pressure. PND 2: A Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate. A basic qualification accredited with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) in terms of government notice R.425 (i.e. Diploma/Degree in Nursing) or an equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse and Midwife/Accoucher. Degree in Nursing Education and Nursing Administration registered with SANC. Proof of current registration with SANC. Minimum of fourteen (14) years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing. Ten (10) years of the period referred to above must be appropriate /recognizable experience in Nursing Education after obtaining one (1) year Post Basic Qualification in relevant speciality. (less 1 year experience for candidates appointed outside Public Service). A valid Code 8 /C1 driver’s license. Degree in Nursing Education and Administration registered with SANC. Proof of current registration with SANC. Minimum of Four (4) years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing (less 1 year experience for candidates appointed outside Public Service).
