Job Description:

To lead and empower our employment legal team in providing strategic, commercially focussed and top-quality advice and guidance on employment and labour law matters across the easyJet Group

As a leader, this role leads by example and works with other senior members of our team to provide general support across the legal team and the wider function of the General Counsel’s Office (“GCO”), both in terms of line management, coaching, mentoring and leading cross-GCO initiatives (such as training CSR etc).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide commercially focused, consistent and practical employment law advice to a wide range of stakeholders including at management and PLC board level. Our advice is always provided with the purpose of supporting business stakeholders to effectively manage risk and achieve outcomes that support our strategic priorities.
  • Partner our People team in achieving our vision for easyJet’s people, supporting on HR process, policy and contract matters across the network
    Partner our Industrial Relations team and support industrial relations matters across the network – we have over 30 employee representative bodies across Europe.
  • Set the strategy for network-wide employment litigation and ensure all relevant reporting and stakeholder requirements are met
  • Seek out opportunities to create value, including innovating with technology, promoting efficient ways of working and combining best practice with great value in terms of leveraging our Legal Community for external legal support

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to build strong relationships and gain the trust of internal stakeholders, including at Board level and external partners / suppliers is essential
  • You will need to have an ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced business which is continuing to change and develop. You should have the confidence to challenge and provide practical advice in the face of complex circumstances, industrial challenge and across multiple jurisdictions
  • The wellbeing of our people is hugely important to us. Strong people management skills including supervision, coaching, development and general wellbeing support are required, as well as sensitive people skills – a high level of emotional intelligence and an open and tolerant mind – being a proponent of doing the right thing.
  • Passionate about easyJet, what we do and what we stand for.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English. A second European language would be beneficial
