Job Responsibilities: identify, collect, photograph and preserve evidence for police investigations Develop latent prints on items of evidence, photograph and collect the developed prints Photograph crime scenes, autopsies, evidence, and related events to assist in police investigations Use digital photography and related software; locate, collect, and preserve evidence by using such techniques as photography, fingerprint processing, various casting methods, and swabbing Develop latent prints and enhance visible prints at crime scenes and on items of evidence Examine suspects and victims for purposes of evidence collection and photography Testify in court as an expert witness; and perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: A valid California Class C Driver License is required at the time of hire. A one-year internship in a crime lab. Two years of full-time experience in a law enforcement agency processing crime scenes. Qualifying experience MUST include photography and the collection, development and preservation of physical evidence (e.g., fingerprints, body fluids, firearms, trace evidence).
