Job Description:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team who functions under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse and/or licensed physician. The LPN is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under his or her direction. The position observes, contributes to the plan of care, implements, reports and documents patient care in accordance with organizational policies and the standards of professional nursing practice while assisting the provider with the treatment and examination of the patient. The UC LPN must apply current nursing knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills to provide for the well being of the individual and the family. The LPN serves as a resource for internal and external customers by utilizing a number of resources such as established CIGNA policies; protocols and guidelines to ensure delivery of high quality care within the guidelines of CIGNA Healthcare of Arizona Nursing Policies and Procedures. The UC LPN utilizes knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills needed to provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age patients.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for following and promoting department and Health Plan procedures, practices, policies, and guidelines to ensure the safety, security, and general well-being of patients and of co-workers. Contributes to the organization’s drive to achieve “Triple Aim” improves the individual experience of care; improves quality and the health of CMG’s population, and reduces the per capita cost of care for the population. Improves customer experience and increases access by assisting with efforts such as Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), Commitment to Service, and Patient Satisfaction.

Job Requirements:

LPN with current Arizona license Graduate of accredited school of nursing Current BCLS certification ACLS and PALS certifications within 6 months of hire. 1-2 year back office experience preferred Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills Basic Computer skills. State Board approved I.V. certification.
