Job Description:

This position is part of the Pipeline Integrity Group within the Pipeline Services organization of Chevron Pipeline and Power and will report to the Pipeline Integrity Technologist Team Leader in Houston, Texas. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge in pipeline inspection, especially in-line inspection, and mitigation procedures. Corrosion management experience is a plus. Relocation benefits will be a consideration.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for Chevron Corporation, field teams, Customer Service Center and Technical Services on issues concerning pipeline and facility integrity work.
  • Manages the pipeline assessment, evaluation and remediation plan in accordance with the prioritized schedule included in the Pipeline Integrity Management (PIM) plan. This includes determining the most appropriate methodology for conducting threat specific integrity assessments on individual pipeline segments, scheduling an appropriate integrity assessment designed to detect the anticipated threats, evaluating the data resulting from the integrity assessments and then determining if any mitigative actions are needed, determining Discovery Dates and tracking the resolution of those mitigative actions to meet the prescriptive time schedules of the PIM rules or initiating the appropriate temporary pressure reductions and ensuring all documentation is developed.
  • Provide technical expertise, analysis and recommendations for pipe integrity related issues to field teams, engineering staff, and other Chevron affiliates. Support safe work practices and incident free operations.
  • Continue to develop processes and procedures for the Liquid and Gas Pipeline Integrity Management Plans. Write procedures and specifications for pipe integrity related issues, including pipe repair methods.

Job Requirements:

Qualification & Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in pipeline integrity
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in ILI analysis
  • Knowledge of pipeline safety regulations and related industry standards including pipeline repair principles and practices (i.e., B31.8, B31.4)
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • NACE certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ILI technologies
  • Knowledge of pipeline threat assessment
  • NACE certification is a plus.
