Job Description:

The Vice President, Product Design leads the strategic development, design, and production of collections for all proprietary product categories from collaborative conceptualization to final product. This role collaborates closely with the Chief Creative Officer and President to define and communicate the inspiration for all proprietary product collections, with a focus on ensuring product newness with every seasonal collection.

Partnering effectively with senior leaders across our merchant, sourcing and supply chain teams along with key external partners, the Vice President, Proprietary Product Design leads a highly engaged team of designers to drive product design and assortment that contributes to the delivery of Indigo’s strategic objectives.

Job Requirements:

• Strong conceptual skills
• Proven ability to negotiate effectively with external business partners
• Demonstrable ability to establish a vision and set direction for a team
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong design aesthetic with a clear understanding of the direction of the brand
• Ability to establish credibility, rapport and influence with cross-functional peers/superiors

Qualification & Experience:

• Post-secondary degree design or related field required
• Master’s degree in design or related field considered an asset
• Minimum 10 years’ progressive creative experience in product design, preferably within the retail sector
• Significant experience leading teams of design professionals
• Expert level Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills
• Expert level CAD design skills
