Job Description:

At Cape Union Mart, the Learning and Development (L&D) team is responsible for creating a culture of continuous learning and growth through holistic learning and development programmes and initiatives that enable us to constantly evolve and develop. Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as a custodian of the company culture, values and principles in line with the company brand
  • Implement learning action plans to achieve agreed learning objectives in line with Company principles, values and training strategy
  • Apply adult learning theories to ensure employees get the best out of their development
  • Drive a culture of continuous professional development (CPD)
  • Design, develop, and delivering training material using a variety of training methods and channels
  • Work in close partnership with stakeholders to manage learning needs and requests across the business, in full support of the functional and operational people plans
  • Facilitate learning interventions
  • Coordinate interventions with external and internal learning providers
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the learning initiatives through feedback from learners and line leaders
  • Execute and deliver on adhoc Departmental projects, interventions and duties
  • Design blended learning solutions
  • Establish and maintain a database representing every aspect of training delivered, including individual sign offs and understanding of material delivered
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders
  • Design a range of learning interventions including functional, compliance and leadership programmes

Job Requirements:

  • Aware of the appropriate methods for delivering content via current e-learning technology (advantageous)
  • Microsoft Office proficiency is a key requirement
  • Ability to develop online training modules (advantageous)
  • Preference will be given to candidates with an intermediate to advance working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • An understanding of Adult Learning Principles
  • Ability to deliver briefs and instructions to the Digital Designer to create e-Learning elements (advantageous)
  • A Digital Learning or e-Learning Course Certificate would be an advantage

Qualification & Experience:

  • HR related Tertiary qualification/ Skills Development workplace qualification
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in Learning and Development sector
  • Previous experience in managing an organisation LMS (advantageous)
  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Working experience in the Retail sector
