Job Description:

The Corporate Sustainability Team is responsible for integrating sustainability into corporate operations, strategy and disclosures. This Analyst will play a meaningful role in implementing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data management and disclosure initiatives. The Analyst will also support engagements with the firm’s partners including clients, shareholders, employees, and ESG ratings organizations. [Note: this role is focused on BlackRock’s corporate activities, not sustainable investing.]

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support Corporate Sustainability Team business management activities and governance processes
  • Respond to client inquiries and requests for information from other partners (i.e., shareholders, employees) related to BlackRock’s sustainability program.
  • Provide support to team priorities related to corporate sustainability strategy, partner engagement, employee engagement, and data reporting, disclosure, and assurance
  • Develop slide decks and talking points for team meetings and presentations
  • Support employee engagement and internal communication
  • Support the development of corporate sustainability disclosures including Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and Task Force on
  • Climate-Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD)-aligned reports
  • Complete ESG ratings and rankings questionnaires
  • Conduct research on corporate sustainability standard methodologies and perform peer benchmarking analysis
  • Support data collection, analysis, and reporting across a range of ESG metrics, including greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data collection and management

Job Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized; ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing the most pressing and impactful matters
  • Genuine passion for sustainability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bold spirit and passion for rolling up sleeves to build new processes and strategies within a small and relatively new team.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of professional experience in corporate sustainability, GHG emissions data management & reporting, carbon footprint management or related field
  • Comfortable working with and making sense of large amounts of data; experience with big data / visualization tools (i.e., Tableau, Python) a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree with strong record of academic achievement; Master’s Degree and/or major in sustainability-related field a plus
