Job Description:

The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) is a premier science institution that conducts research with partners, develops human capital and foster innovation in support of the agricultural sector. It provides diagnostic, laboratory, analytical, agricultural engineering services, post-harvest
technology development, agrochemical evaluation, consultation and advisory services, food processing technology services as well as various surveys and training interventions. Through its wider network of research institutes and experimental farms, the ARC provides a strong scientific base and a broadly distributed technology transfer capacity to the entire agricultural industry in South Africa.

Job Responsibilities:

• Overall management of the strategic, tactical and operational aspects of facilities management service delivery to the organisation.
• Develop, maintain and coordinate effective delivery of infrastructure and asset management services,
• Design and implement solutions that support the operational processes of managing assets,
• Engage directly with business leaders to design, prioritise and deliver an infrastructure which provides all required asset data at any given time during or after its life cycle,
• Develop and implement asset and infrastructure risk treatment plans in accordance with identified risks,
• Ensure optimisation of asset utilisation across the ARC in consultation with the different research divisions, and aligned to the ARC’s strategic and operational objectives,
• Manage all leases through effective contract management and liaison with various lines of business,
• Implement planned, preventative and emergency maintenance in line with the strategic requirements set out
