Job Description:

The Manager, Digital Innovation will develop and drive key initiatives for Digital’s Innovate and Culture Hoshin pillars. The Digital organization is undergoing a transformation and the Manager, Digital Innovation will be responsible for the culture components and communication internally within Digital and externally to our business partners. The role will also oversee the Ameren Innovation Center, expanding the l focus on driving innovation based on emerging technologies and strategies in academia using interns, research minded university personnel and through faculty relationships. This role will oversee the management of research, development, integration and implementation of specific innovation initiatives. This job will oversee approximately 15-20 interns, in addition to full-time direct reports, to develop and execute innovative projects and emerging technology, including application development, analytics and innovation research.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Share and implement best practices from other leading corporations that have established R&D offices in the Research Park with the broader Digital organization
  • Oversee strategy development and deployment of new and emerging technologies and ensure innovation pilots support business initiatives/objectives
  • Lead, manage and motivate resources supporting Innovate and Culture pillars across Digital, partnering with Digital Strategy, HR and Corporate Strategy & Innovation teams
  • Mentor interns and build a talent rich pool for future employment at Ameren
  • Communicate status and progress reports to management
  • Reviews and approves selected technology innovation initiatives and facilitates communications, awareness and interaction among departments requiring selected technology innovation initiatives, including Ameren-wide Idea Hack planning and execution
  • Develop and execute overall culture and communication plan for the Digital transformation, including appropriate meetings, audience, content/talking points, success metrics
  • Build relationships with faculty across various scientific disciplines, community technology incubators and key industry groups, advancing Ameren’s Digital presence in our communities and industry groups
  • Communicate research ideas and concepts in a business and university context at senior management and technical levels
  • Interfaces with top-level management and technology heads across the company, industry and region

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Business Administration, Engineering or Mathematics. Advanced degree preferred. Seven or more years of directly related experience in technology required. Experience in a role delivering through the development and deployment of new capabilities and associated change efforts preferred. Experience working in a university environment preferred.
