Job Description:

Reporting to the Vice-President, Investments & Risk, the incumbent will manage the team responsible for the management of financial risks, develop and improve the financial tools necessary for the risk management of the investment strategies, as well as providing recommendations on the risk mitigation of the portfolios. Job Responsibilities:

  • Owner of the risk management process and responsible of developing and improving the financial tools necessary for the process
  • Maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders, including traders, portfolio managers, internal financial operations, data & analytics and external providers
  • Review and provide comments and recommendations on key risk metrics of portfolios and trades, to improve portfolio construction
  • Analysis and monitoring of strategies and investment products in various asset classes (bonds, credit, equity and volatility/variance)
  • Ensure the timely production and dissemination of the risk metrics of the internal portfolios (sensitivities, stress tests, active risk, liquidity risk, VaR, etc.)
  • Pre- and post-trade analysis of ad hoc transactions or quantitative strategies involving derivatives and exotic products
  • Review/Supervision of the work performed by the team
  • Coordinate risk analysis reporting to internal committees, counterparties and clients
  • Investments & Risk unit ownership, manage human resources, projects, and deliverables

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of various financial systems: Bloomberg AIM, an asset
  • University graduate degree in finance, actuarial science, mathematics or another related field
  • FRM, PRM, CFA and/or actuarial professional designation is an asset
  • Genuine interest in both complex and simple financial products and knowledge of derivatives
  • Bilingual (French and English)
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Skill and interest in programming (such as Python, SQL, etc.) and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in managing and mobilising teams in a growth environment and in the development of human potential
